Allergens, pollen, clutter…all the indications that means spring is arriving. With the start of spring means the beginning of spring cleaning! This can feel like a hassle with everything you have on the go, but in the end it’s so satisfying to see your space organized and sparkling! Check out some of these spring cleaning tips to take on this year!

Organize Your Storage Spaces

Throughout the winter and holiday seasons, we tend to store more than we think our closets and storage places around our home can handle. With the right organization tools, we can clean out our clutter and even make room for more! From shoe racks, to shelving, to storage bins, there are so many options for you to help make your storage spaces nice and tidy! Check out some of these resources here!

Anything you wish to get rid of DON’T just throw it away! Have a yard or garage sale and whatever you don’t get rid of, donate to your local thrift/donation store!

Wash the Baseboards

Make sure to give your baseboards some TLC in this year’s spring cleaning! Throughout the year they tend to pick up a ton of dust, dirt, and grime and can be a big contributor to house allergens if not well taken care of. The great thing about cleaning baseboards is that you don’t need to buy anything special! Some dawn dish soap, a rag or a sponge will do the trick!

Check on Your Grout

A somewhat tedious job, but cleaning your grout will not only get rid of unwanted dirt and grime, but overall improve the look of your tiles and bathrooms. Start off with wiping down your grout with hot water and a washcloth. Then mix 1 tsp of dish soap, ¼ of a cup of hydrogen peroxide, and ½ of a cup of baking soda. Spoon the mix onto the grout, let it sit for up to 10 minutes, and scrub and wipe clean for a brand new shine to your grout!

Clean Out Your Fridge

You probably do this often, but a little extra love to your fridge could never hurt! Take everything out and give your fridge a good wipe down, getting every little corner and crevice that might be holding some extra grime. This is another space that you could use different tools to organize your food to keep an eye out on what is going bad and creating more space throughout your fridge. You can find some awesome resources here!

Dust Dust Dust!

Our allergies biggest enemy…unfortunately dust tends to collect on every possible surface it can. Make sure you’re paying extra attention to door frames, fans, and unvisited counter and dresser spaces this spring cleaning season! A simple duster or some hot water and soap is all you need to help make your home dust free!

Check on Your Curtains

Did you know that curtains are what attracts the most dust throughout your home? It is so important to keep an eye on your curtains and clean them regularly. If that seems like too much of a hassle, consider investing in some different blinds. Those still require upkeep but are not as difficult to keep up with!
