Celebrate Independence Day in style at Raleigh’s July 4th Fireworks Celebration at Dix Park! Partnered with ABC11/WTVD-TV, this family-friendly event promises an evening full of fun, food, and festivities, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display.

Event Schedule
• 5:30 PM: Parking opens, shuttles start running
• 6:00 PM: The event opens with food trucks, music, and activities
• 9:00 PM: The last shuttle leaves Moore Square Park; activities close
• 9:30 PM: Fireworks begin
• 10:00 PM: Event concludes; shuttles return attendees to Moore Square Park

Enjoy free event parking at the following locations:

City of Raleigh Downtown Parking Decks:
• Moore Square Parking Deck: 223 S. Wilmington Street
• Red Hat/City Center Parking Deck: 429 S. Wilmington Street

NC State University Centennial Campus:
• Surface Lots: Off Main Campus Drive and Initiative Way
• Partners Way Deck: 851 Partners Way
• Oval West Deck: 914 Partners Way

Shuttle Service

Free park-and-ride shuttles are available:
• Pickup: Moore Square Park
• Drop-off: Intersection of Centennial Parkway and Blair Drive
• Walking Distance: 0.2 miles/5 min walk up Blair Drive to the Big Field
• Schedule: Shuttles run from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM, with return service starting after the fireworks.

Event Highlights

Food Truck Court (6:00 PM – 10:00 PM)
• 40 food trucks curated by Shop Local Raleigh, serving a variety of delicious options throughout the evening.

Family Activity Zone (6:00 PM – 9:00 PM)
• Engage in art activities with Artsplosure. Enjoy water slides, a scavenger hunt, and a foam party pit. (We recommend families bring a change of clothes for the kids.)

Stage Entertainment (6:00 PM – 9:30 PM)
• 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Music with DJ Rickey Smith
• 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM: Community dance led by Cuquig
• 9:00 PM – 9:30 PM: ABC11 Live and firework countdown

Important Information
• Pack light and prepare for walking distances between parking, shuttles, and the Big Field viewing area.
• No shuttle service from Centennial Campus event parking – walk only to Dix Park.
• The last shuttle leaves Moore Square Park at 9:00 PM.

ADA/Accessibility Parking
• Enter Goode Street from Lake Wheeler Road and follow event staff directions to designated parking lots.
• ADA shuttles will transport attendees from these lots to the Big Field, which features accessible pathways.

No Ticket or Registration Needed

This event is free and open to all! No sign-up or registration is necessary. Enjoy this festive, community-oriented celebration with your fellow Raleigh residents.

Alternative Transportation Options

Walk or Bike
• Use the Rocky Branch Greenway to enter Hunt Drive and Western Boulevard.
• Use the Centennial Bikeway Connector to enter Blair Drive and Centennial Parkway.
• Bike parking with volunteer attendants is available at the intersection of Hunt Drive and Umstead Drive.

Ride Share/Family Drop-off
• Drop-off Location: Chapel Parking Lot at 1030 Richardson Drive
• Entry: Vehicles enter at S. Boylan Avenue off Western Boulevard.

What to Bring
• A refillable water bottle
• Blanket and/or camp chairs for seating
• Food and non-alcoholic drinks (small cooler or bag permitted)
• Sunscreen, hats, bug spray, flashlights, and closed-toe shoes are recommended
• Personal-sized umbrellas are permitted

• Personal fireworks or sparklers
• Alcohol
• Weapons of any kind
• Smoking & Vaping
• Drug use
• Open flames and grilling
• Tents, canopies
• Drones
• Littering
• Please leave pets safe at home!
